The main aim of the academy is to create a club that people know about. The aim is to help develop players to the best of their ability. The starting point isn’t so important but the aim is develop players and maximise their potential and just giving them the opportunity to achieve that. For example, we may have goals of helping Callum Evans get into to top 5 in the English Senior Men’s rankings, or getting Adam Jepson or Zak Cantor to top 10 in the Senior Men’s English rankings.
The club is all about helping the players that we have to get to the best that they can be, but wanting them to have the desire to be the best that they can be. Making sure that the players are in the training sessions always giving 100% and making sure that they are giving their all to the game.
The club is all about getting new players into the game and encouraging them to come up through the system and getting them to play through under 13’s to cadets to junior and to senior level. With TT Kids in place, we have been given an opportunity to help and support players from a young age to get into the game and to fall in love with table tennis. Starting the players from TT Kids to play in local leagues, to then playing in British league eventually.
Our aim at the club is to make sure that the club is inclusive as well as elitist, to make sure that we can get the very best from every player who walks through our doors. And making sure that we are getting people locally playing table tennis so that you are including everyone in the community to get involved with the club.
